Do you remember those tiny DLP-based pico projectors presented at last year's CES? Well, this year Samsung have integrated one into a real working mobile phone. Imagine having a projector this size always with you.
For their first projector phone Samsung chose to go with Texas Instruments and their DLP-based pico projector module that was announced at last year's CES.
The new projector phone by Samsung is actually a working device and it should be available in Korea this year under the Anycall brand meaning it's not a GSM mobile. It has an OLED display, 5 megapixel camera and runs on the Samsung TouchWiz interface.
Introducing the Samsung projector phone
The model name of the Samsung projector phone is still a mystery since unlike what other websites are publishing, the SHOW sign on top of the device is not its name but a Korean wireless video service. The same sign can be found on most Anycall SPH handsets.

While image quality by pico projectors is not comparable to the one of their desktop counterparts (who expects that anyway!), the result is quite stunning and the gadget can be used for watching movies or browsing through the image gallery on the move.
The best thing about having the projector built right into the phone (instead as a separate device) is that there is no need of external video source and it's always with you ready for use. Of course, you'd probably have to bring your charger along too, as this beam of light seems like a true battery eater.
Here's a quick live demo of the Samsung projector phone:
Along with the mysterious projector phone Samsung also introduced a PMP, dubbed as MBP200. The latter has an integrated DLP projector, too. It also packs a 2.2 inch LCD display, DMB TV tuner and offers video and MP3 support.
The Samsung MBP200 PMP has an embedded projector too
Its projector (made by TI again) is able of projecting images with a 480 x 320 pixels resolution and a size of up to 50 inches. The Samsung MBP200 has up to 16 GB memory on board (via an SD card slot) and sports a built-in speaker and a video input jack.
Samsung INNOV8 is back to our shop and quite ready to strut its stuff again. Not so long ago we saw it in heavy duty cameraphone action, it's now time to explore the whole package. And there's a lot. The ample TFT display, abundant storage space, latest Symbian OS and the 8 megapixel camera all promise a nice ride. Multimedia and entertainment won't go unnoticed either, to make it as fun as it gets.
The INNOV8 has already got a star on the 8 megapixel boulevard and might as well be eyeing Symbian domination. Here it goes, but watch out 'cause this thing rides fast.

Samsung i8510 INNOV8
A few 8 megapixel cameraphones are already cornering the market and you should be well on top of things if you keep track. Samsung i8510, better known by its stage name INNOV8, was first to hit the shelves and still the only one to run on Symbian. A powerful OS for a powerful handset, we should add. You can tell we are struck by the INNOV8 charisma, but don't worry, you will soon be too.
Samsung INNOV8 boasts one of the most capable 8 megapixel cameras and so rightfully earned the most feature balanced cameraphone recommendation in our recent 8 megapixel camera shootout. We're now about to have a closer look though at another two contenders, which share INNOV8's form factor.
As it seems Samsung have a really nice cameraphone in store for all of us, due in the beginning of 2009. The S8300 has obviously slipped under someone's door, as it's not officially announced yet.
Only 12.8mm thick, the Samsung S8300 has an absolutely massive widescreen OLED display, probably the largest one we've seen to date, and the fact that it's a touchscreen, makes it that much sweeter.
The S8300 specs sheet is further pumped up by an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, a GPS receiver, HSDPA and DivX video support. Judging from the interface shots, the handset doesn't seem to be a smartphone, but instead is running on the Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz feature phone interface, well known from the Samsung Pixon for example.
Upcoming Samsung S8300 looks nice
Among its other niceties are FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.1, and a microSD card slot. It's a long list.
Unfortunately, as it's evident from the photos the 8 megapixel camera is not equipped with a xenon flash. There's only LED instead that's best used as video light. There's no mention of Wi-Fi functionality either.

As you may guess, there is no official info about the device yet, however word is out that it should be available by March 2009.
